DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: South Luangwa - Kapani Lodge
On arrival at Lusaka Airport we can arrange a meet and greet service to assist with immigration and customs formalities and the transfer to the domestic departures lounge for your flight to Mfuwe.
You will be met at Mfuwe Airport by your safari guide who will drive you to Kapani Lodge, usually arriving in time for brunch. You will have the rest of the day to relax, until gameviewing this evening which will be by vehicle leaving camp around 4pm. You will stop for sundowners in the Park and then continue with the second half of the drive, which is conducted after dark in search of nocturnal species. You will return to camp at around 7:30pm in time for dinner.
Accommodation: Kapani Lodge
Days 2 & 3: South Luangwa - Nsolo Bush Camp
Depart after an early breakfast for the game drive to Nsolo Bush Camp. After brunch, you will be briefed on the walking safari and later that afternoon, set out on foot accompanied by your professional guide and an armed game scout for your first true walking safari. Walking safaris from camp are not strenuous and are conducted at a pace determined by guests, usually lasting 3 to 4 hours.
Your home for tonight will be a raised deck with grass walls on three sides and a tall, cool thatched roof. Once more your bathroom is open to the sky above.
Accommodation: Nsolo Bush Camp
Days 4 & 5: South Luangwa - Kakuli Bush Camp
Your next move takes you further down the Luwi River, again on foot, to its confluence with the main Luangwa and to Kakuli Bush Camp. This camp is tented and has stunning views along a stretch of the Luangwa that is home to over five hundred Hippo. Most of the gameviewing is still on foot although there are more roads in this area so it is possible to use vehicles and with a dense population of leopards in the area the night drives are usually most rewarding.
Accommodation: Kakuli Bush Camp
Day 6: End of Safari
This morning you will have the opportunity to stay a little longer in bed. Breakfast at Kakuli Bush Camp will be followed by a gamedrive through the Park ending up at Mfuwe airport for your flight to Lusaka and onwards.
