Livingstone is only about 5 kilometres from Victoria Falls and is a delightful old colonial town named of course after the explorer, Dr David Livingstone. There are many lovely lodges on the banks of the Zambezi River. A large number of adventure activities are available from the Zambian side such as the terrifying high-adrenaline sport of white water rafting on one of the world's most challenging stretches of river.

Livingstone Accommodation

Nesting at the tail end of the Great Rift Valley, in the Luangwa Valley, the South Luangwa National Park is wild and remote. It has an abundance of wildlife that is rarely seen in other game reserves and is one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. This huge area of pristine wilderness is home to a large variety of game and birds, as well as the bigger predators.

Kafue National Park is Zambia's largest national park and one of the largest in the world. The park spills into three of Zambia's provinces and has an impressive range of over 400 species of birds and abundant wildlife. A dominant feature of the park is the Busanga Plains - a vast floodplain fed by the Lufupa River system. The easiest way to visit the park is to let one of the lodges fly you in from Lusaka, Livingstone or Mfuwe.

Kafue Accommodation

The Lower Zambezi National Park is situated downstream from Lake Kariba and opposite Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. The beauty of the Lower Zambezi is in its state of absolute wilderness. Despite the fact that the variety and amount of game is not as wide as some of Zambia's other parks, there are some spectacular opportunities to get close to the game wondering in and out of the Zambezi channels.
