ITINERARY

This Kruger Park safari begins and ends in Johannesburg.

Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger National Park

We depart from Johannesburg between 06h30 and 08h00 to allow for various collection points. Our route takes us through the wide open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. We stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reach the Kruger National Park and Skukuza Rest Camp in the afternoon.

After settling in to our accommodations, we head out on our first game drive! We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4x4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point. On our return, we have some time to visit the Park's shop, go for a walk & just familiarising ourselves with our surroundings.

Dinner is a two course meal, served al fresco at our private camp. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.

Included meals: Dinner

Days 2 to 6: Kruger National Park

Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!) We then set off on the morning safari which will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!

On returning to Skukuza, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Skukuza museum, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Skukuza is also a bird watcher's paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars!

All our safaris include a SANPARKS sunset drive. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park's vehicles with a Park's ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.) A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park's rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times.

On the day that you do not have the Sunset drive, we will head out in our own open game drive vehicle. By now you will already have seen quite a lot and we will go in search of the ones that have eluded us thus far!

We include a SANPARKS Bush walk for all our guests spending 5 days or more with us. These walks are also conducted by a Parks ranger and there may be other guests joining this activity. (Children under 12 years of age are not permitted on bush walks). A Bush walk allows guests to really get close to nature! Although you may encounter some animals, you should note that the purpose of such a walk is not game viewing, but rather exploring other aspects of nature. Please remember to pack comfortable walking shoes.

We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 7: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

This morning we sadly have to leave the Kruger National Park. We still have one more chance for game viewing from our closed, air conditioned tour vehicle as we leave the park. The drive out of the park should take around 1,5 to 2 hours.

The final highlight of our safaris is exploring the renowned Panorama Route! Attractions visited include the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and Pilgrims Rest. We stop en-route for lunch (own expense).

The drive back to Johannesburg takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.

Included meals: Breakfast
