ITINERARY:
Day 1

Depart Port Elizabeth and travel to Graaf-Reinet (the oldest town in the Eastern Cape region) via Jansenville. Known as the 'gem of the Karoo' view the beautifully restored historical buildings, which line the streets. Explore Graaff-Reinet at leisure and on foot, admiring Cape Dutch style architecture, museums with collections of photographic memorabilia, artworks and fossils that trace the story of the Karoo from prehistory to the present day. In the afternoon visit the famous jointed dolerite pillars of the Valley of Desolation where you will enjoy sundowners. Return to your quaint retreat for traditional Cape cuisine.

Day 2

After breakfast, travel to the small village of Nieu Bethesda and visit the extraordinary 'Owl House', where Helen Martins, an artist, produced South Africa's most famous example of 'outside art'. Continue to Ganora, a local farm where you can view Bushman paintings. Visit a museum, which contains fossils found on the farm and enjoy a typical farm style lunch (not included). Travel via the Naudeberg Pass to the Mountain Zebra National Park where you can view Mountain Zebras. Continue to Cradock, a rural farming community and important centre for Mohair. Enjoy a superb country style home cooked meal and intimate hospitality.

Day 3

After breakfast, travel to Grahamstown via Bedford for a short comfort stop. In Grahamstown, explore the city's culture and numerous historical buildings. Visit the Settler's Monument, Cathedral of St Michael and St George, Commemoration Church, Observatory Museum, Albany Museum and Rhodes University Campus. After lunch (not included), continue on our sightseeing tour of Grahamstown before settling down to a cozy dinner at a luxury guest house.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, travel to the evergreen Sundays River Valley, home to the famous Addo Elephant Park. Driving through the Park, enjoy the wildlife and flora before a short lunch break. Continue with afternoon game viewing in the park before returning to Port Elizabeth for drop off at your hotel or Port Elizabeth Airport.
