ITINERARY:

Day 1

Met on arrival at Cape Town International Airport by professional guide and private transfer to the hotel at The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Afternoon at leisure for shopping at the Waterfront.

Day 2

Today’s touring starts with a visit up Table Mountain where the various flora and fauna will be explained. The cableway ticket is not included as the mountain visit is weather permitting. Continue with a City Tour incorporating the Malay Quarter, a walk through the Castle of Good Hope and on to Milnerton for a spectacular view of Table Mountain and the city. En route back to the hotel, visit the Cape Town Diamond Works. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 3

Full Day Cape Highlights tour, travelling via Camps Bay, Hout Bay, and Chapman's Peak to the Cape of Good Hope Reserve. After enjoying stunning views from the highest point, continue towards Simonstown and Muizenberg. After lunch (not included), sample some South African wines at a local wine estate. Travel through the University town of Stellenbosch before returning to the hotel in the early evening. Please note: the drive along Chapman's Peak is subject to the road being open.

Day 4

Depart Cape Town via Du Toit’s Kloof Pass to Worcester and traverse the famous Route 62 passing through the town of Robertson. Visit the towns of Barrydale and Calitzdorp where the true diversity of landscapes is highlighted through the everchanging semi-desert areas to your luxurious hotel in Oudtshoorn. Enjoy a hearty dinner served in the elegant dining room famous for its ostrich fare and fine wines.

Day 5

After breakfast, visit the Cango Caves for a fully guided tour followed by a local ostrich farm tour. Time permitting, an optional tour of the Crocodile and Cheetah Park is available. Leaving Oudtshoorn, continue over the Robinson Pass to Mossel Bay. Send a postcard to friends or relatives from the famous Post Office Tree before visiting the Diaz and Maritime Museums with relics of famous explorers. Scenic drive via Dolphin Point to Wilderness and on to South Africa’s 'oyster capital' Knysna. After checking in to your exclusive country hotel, there is sufficient time to enjoy an optional extra sunset cruise on the lagoon or simply a stroll through the village and Waterfront. Enjoy a superb dinner in the dining room or Gazebo (weather permitting).

Day 6

After breakfast, there are a wide variety of leisure activities in and around Knysna and your guide is at your disposal to discover the area. Optional extra activities include the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe and the Featherbed Reserve Ferry, trail and lunch. Freshen up before enjoying dinner at the Knysna Waterfront or the hotel.

Day 7

After breakfast journey to Port Elizabeth, winding along the edge of the warm Indian Ocean with a short refreshment stop in the 'millionaires' playground of Plettenberg Bay. Upon entering the Tsitsikamma Forest area, attractions to be visited include the Big Tree and the Garden of Eden. After a stop at Storms River Bridge, view the sight of the world’s highest 'bungee' jump. Gaze in awe at the scenery whilst crossing the Storms River where photographic opportunities abound. The day’s adventure concludes at your beachfront hotel.

Day 8

Morning at leisure. Private transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for flight to Durban (not included). You will be met on arrival and transferred to your exclusive hotel in Ballito on Durban’s north coast.

Day 9

After collection from your hotel, leave the bustling city of Durban. Driving through sugar cane plantations along the Indian Ocean seaboard to northern Zululand and on to St Lucia, a World Heritage Site. Enjoy a river cruise on the estuary known as 'birder’s paradise'. Here pelicans, fish eagles, hippos and crocodiles may be seen. Proceed to an exclusive private game lodge. After high tea, set out on an afternoon game drive in open safari vehicle whilst experienced game rangers and trackers are sure to enthrall you with the best game viewing the private reserve has to offer. Return to the lodge for dinner served in an African Boma (weather permitting).

Day 10

Morning game drive in an open safari vehicle within the private reserve. After brunch, depart the lodge and continue to Swaziland entering at Golela border post. Travel through pineapple plantations and beautiful mountainous scenery and visit a typical Swazi Market and the Swazi candle factory. Late afternoon arrival at your luxury hotel situated in the majestic Ezulwini Valley. Fine dining and an evening of entertainment and excitement awaits you.

Day 11

After a sumptuous breakfast, visit the Ngwenya Glass factory. Leave Swaziland via the capital city of Mbabane and travel to the world famous Kruger National Park. Enter the Park and explore the area en route to the next exclusive private game lodge, arriving in time for high tea. Late afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle with an experienced ranger and tracker who will endeavour to spoil you with sightings of the 'Big Five'. Enjoy a safari style bush dinner under the stars (weather permitting).

Day 12

After a morning game drive and breakfast, depart the lodge via Pilgrim’s Rest for the Panorama Route featuring: God's Window, the Lisbon Waterfalls, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon. Late afternoon arrival at your elegant country hideaway. Enjoy a delectable dinner that can only be described as a 'culinary masterpiece'.

Day 13

After a full English breakfast on your own personal veranda overlooking the Sabie River, our journey to Johannesburg begins with a visit to the Lone Creek Waterfalls and the small town of Sabie. Travel over the historical Long Tom Pass to the towns of Lydenburg, Dullstroom and Witbank arriving in Johannesburg during the mid-afternoon. Drop off at your executive hotel in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs.

Day 14

Morning tour of Soweto including a fascinating glimpse of bustling neighborhood life, two Nobel Prizewinners' previous residences, the Hector Peterson Memorial and Baragwanath Hospital. Return to your hotel by lunchtime and private transfer to Johannesburg International Airport.
