Vingerklip Lodge 
South of the Etosha National Park and inland from the Skeleton Coast, is an area known as Damaraland.Situated off the C39 on the road between Outjo and Khorixas is Vingerklip Lodge in Damaraland's Valley of the Ugab Terrace, a vast wilderness area with some incredible rock formations. Vingerklip Lodge is built with traditional African materials such as wood, stone and thatch. The lodge is an excellent base from which to explore the destinations of Damaraland. Vingerklip Lodge comprises a cluster of bungalows nestling in the natural terrain. Fine international and local cuisine is served in the spacious dining area by an open fireplace. Vingerklip Lodge has a deck from which sundowners can be enjoyed while watching the sunset. Accommodation for a total of 48 guests is in 10 comfortable thatched double bungalows, four of which have been furnished for families. All the rooms have an en-suite shower and separate WC. The main complex houses the reception area, small curio shop, bar, lounge and dining room with open fireplace. There is a lapa where sundowners can be enjoyed whilst watching the sun go down over the valley and far into Damaraland, and a sparkling swimming pool affords an outstanding view to the west. A leisurely walk from the lodge takes you to the base of the imposing Ugab Vingerklip, a 30m high pillar of dolerite and lime, which has been carved over the millennia by relentless winds. There are plenty of game and bird species in the area. Although Vingerklip Lodge is primarily an overnight spot from which to explore the area, it has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere and you may want to spend two or three days here.
