Tangala Safari Camp

Tangala Safari Camp, in the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, is one of the last remaining authentic experiences in South Africa. Tangala is an intimate and exclusive private safari camp, situated in a prime ecological area abounding in wildlife.

Accommodation at Tangala Safari Camp will bring back memories of a bygone era of the 'Colonial Africa' long forgotten. The five twin bedded thatched chalets have been interior designed to provide the ultimate in rustic luxury. All chalets have en-suite facilities and their own private viewing patio.

Tangala is electricity free with kerosene lamps/lantern lighting being provided. The camp consist of a central dining and lounge area with full bar and a swimming pool with a deck. Cooking is performed on either gas or open fire. Tangala's cuisine has been specially created to reflect Africa in all her moods.

Guests can expect to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives. As well as exciting bird watching.

Wildlife activities at Tangala Safari Camp enable guests to 'touch, taste and smell' Africa. The day begins with a game drive of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Not only will guests get close to Big Game but also learn to identify birds and trees, taste edible fruit, follow in the footsteps of animals great and small and learn about local bush lore.
